The Robberg Express 2026 is a 9 & 13km trail adventure around one of South Africa’s most iconic landmarks — the Robberg Peninsula in Plettenberg Bay. This spectacular route takes runners through the heart of a coastal nature reserve where rugged cliffs, sandy stretches, and ocean views collide in a trail experience like no other.
PLEASE NOTE: Pre-Race (Morning of the race), Race Wristband collection & Briefing from 07:30 at Race START. Race starts at 08:00. Cut-Off 3Hrs, finishes at 11:00.
Starting from Whale Rock Ridge (White Caps Way Parking Area), runners wind through the fynbos-lined trails of “Snake Alley” before joining the famous Robberg hiking loop — a mix of rocky single-track, rolling dunes, and dramatic sea-edge paths overlooking the turquoise Indian Ocean. It’s a route that challenges the legs and rewards the spirit, offering a perfect blend of technical trail, wild beauty, and untamed coastline.
9km - Half Lap (Down Witsand)
13km - Full Lap
Expect to share the trail with seabirds and seals, feel the sea spray on your face, and soak up sweeping views that stretch all the way to the Tsitsikamma mountains. Whether you’re chasing a fast time or simply running for the pure joy of being out there, the Robberg Express is a race that captures the essence of trail running on the Garden Route — raw, scenic, and unforgettable.
