The Tsitsikamma Ultra Trail Run (50km) is a breathtaking journey through one of South Africa’s most pristine wilderness areas, stretching from the rugged cliffs of Stormsriver (START) to the hidden mountain hamlet of Covie (FINISH). Yes you are running the Tsitsikamma 5-day Hiking Route all in one day!
This point-to-point adventure traces ancient footpaths and forestry roads through dense indigenous forests, across cascading rivers, and over rolling fynbos-covered ridges with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean on one side and deep, mysterious gorges on the other.
For 2027 we will be bringing in a 30km distance "Tsitsikamma Lite". The perfect distance for you to still experience a section of the trail in all it's beauty.
The weekends line-up will be:
Tsitsikamma Ultra (50km) The Original Race, from Stormsriver Petroport to Covie. Simply Glorious. 06:00 START.
Tsitsikamma Lite (30km) The new kid on the block, from Lottering Forestry Station to Covie. Oh don't tease me now! 08:00 START
Every stride carries the runner deeper into the heart of the Tsitsikamma National Park, where the raw beauty of nature is both humbling and exhilarating. It’s a wild, soul-stirring route that challenges the legs while nourishing the spirit.

18 years & older (on Race Day)
Tsitsikamma Ultra (50km)
The option to leave your vehicle at the Race Finish (Covie Church) and catch a Shuttle to the START (Stormsriver - Petroport) will be the easiest. Shuttle Services will be available from 05:00 onwards to get you to the Race Start in time. Important that you state making use of the Shuttle Service, when purchasing your ticket. Parking available at FINISH.
Tsitsikamma Lite (30km)
You will need to get yourself to the Race START (Lottering Forestry Station).
There will be Parking available to family/friends picking you up at the FINISH.
